KRACHI WEST NPP COMMUNICATIONS BUREAU EXPOSES ALLEGED ABUSE OF MUNICIPAL DRIP EQUIPMENTS

The Krachi West NPP Communications Bureau has uncovered and confirmed disturbing allegations involving the blatant misuse of DRIP equipment belonging to the Krachi West Municipal Assembly.

Credible information available to us clearly indicates that municipal DRIP equipment meant for public development has been diverted for private and commercial use. These state-owned machines are reportedly being used to transport sand at fees ranging between GHC1,500, GHC800, and even lower per trip, with proceeds allegedly paid into private Mobile Money accounts within the municipality.

This illegal and unethical practice has been ongoing for over one year, raising grave concerns about the deliberate abuse of public resources, financial impropriety, and the total disregard for accountability by persons entrusted with government property.
The DRIP programme was designed to serve the collective developmental needs of the people, not to enrich a few individuals through backdoor commercial dealings.

The continued exploitation of these assets is a betrayal of public trust and an insult to hardworking residents of Krachi West.
Residents of the municipality have expressed deep frustration and outrage over this development and are calling on relevant authorities to immediately launch a full-scale investigation, recover misappropriated funds, and sanction all individuals found culpable.

Be assured that in the coming days, the Krachi West NPP Communications Bureau will formally invoke the Right to Information (RTI) Act to demand full disclosure. We are also in possession of audio evidence, which will be released to the general public should authorities fail or refuse to respond to our RTI request.

The Krachi West NPP Communications Bureau remains unwavering in its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the protection of public interest. We will pursue this matter relentlessly and keep the public informed as events unfold.
