Police in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region have arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly stabbing a family member in both eyes with a pair of scissors during a domestic dispute in Sefwi Abrokofe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect, identified as William Gyamfi, also known as Kwasi Manso, is alleged to have attacked the victim, Akua Agyeiwaa, believed to be in her early 50s, following a misunderstanding between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attack left the woman critically injured, and she was immediately transferred to the Juaboso Government Hospital for emergency medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After receiving a report of the incident, police deployed a patrol team to the community to apprehend the suspect, who was reportedly assaulted by some residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time of his arrest, Gyamfi sustained visible injuries, including a swollen left eye and forehead, and bleeding on his left leg. He was treated at the Juaboso Government Hospital and later discharged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police confirmed that William Gyamfi is currently in custody and assisting with investigations into the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, some community members claim that the suspect has a history of violent behaviour, including a previous cutlass attack on his brother-in-law. Residents are calling on police to conduct thorough investigations and prosecute the suspect to serve as a deterrent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
